Diploma of Flight Dispatcher Generic Training

This Diploma program in Flight Dispatcher Generic Training provides basic training in the classroom. This program covers the fundamental concepts of Air Laws, Meteorology, and Flight Operations.

Student will gain skills on working as a Flight Dispatcher. Flight Dispatcher assists in planning flight paths, taking into account aircraft performance and loading, enroute winds, thunderstorm and turbulence forecasts, airspace restrictions, and airport conditions.

  • Over 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • IELTS 5.5 (international students).

Career Opportunities

Flight dispatcher for all air operators such as airlines, air taxis, charter flights, private flight operations. However, international students are not eligible for the Post Graduation Work Permit by completing this program.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes:

The goal of Flight Dispatcher Generic Training program is to teach the student aviation basic knowledge and flight plan & control knowledge. Graduated student will:

 

1. Receive aviation basic technology knowledge and skills as of Flight Dispatcher, including: Flight Theory | Aeroframe, Power Plant and Instruments | Aeroplane Operation | Navigation and Aeronautical Chart | Air Law and Procedures | Meteorology | Human Factor

 

2.Take Transport Canada Flight Dispatch exams (FDDOPS and FDMET).

Program Duration: 1 year

Methods of Evaluation:

Students’ progress in the program is measured by their successful completion of the courses listed in the program outlines; a minimum of 70% of all course marks, as well as each assessment component of the courses, are required to successfully complete the program.
