Academic Support & Program Progression Assistance
Canadian Aviation College (CAC) provides structured academic support and program progression guidance as part of its student services. All flight training programs approved by Transport Canada operate on a full-time basis, defined by PTIRU as a minimum of 15 instructional hours per week. This structure ensures consistency in program delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Department of Student Success and Academic Support oversees progression tracking and academic advising. Services include:
-
Explaining program requirements and timelines,
-
Reviewing student training records and flight hour logs,
-
Assisting with academic planning and training adjustments due to delays (such as weather or scheduling constraints),
-
Referring students to learning support or remediation as needed.
The department works with instructors, flight operations, and administrative staff to monitor progress and ensure students remain aligned with program milestones. These services are available throughout the program and are included as part of regular tuition.
Student Support Services
At Canadian Aviation College (CAC), we understand that students come from a wide range of educational backgrounds and may need different kinds of support as they progress through their training. To help students meet academic expectations and stay confident in their studies, we offer a variety of Learning Support Services — all included as part of regular tuition.
These services are designed to reinforce what’s taught in class, provide help preparing for exams, and offer extra guidance when students need it most. Depending on their needs, students can acess supports at all stages of the program, whether a student is preparing for a Transport Canada exam or simply needs help with study techniques.
All of this is coordinated through our Department of Student Success and Academic Support, which works closely with instructors and student services to make sure students get timely and practical help. The goal is to ensure every student feels supported — not just to meet program requirements, but to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for long-term success in the classroom, in flight training, and in their aviation careers.
Guided Study Time (15 Hours/Week)
Flexible, drop-in sessions supported by instructors and academic staff.
International students are required to be on campus a minimum of 15 hours per week. These study sessions have proven especially valuable since being introduced in early 2025, with noticeable improvements in student performance.

Learning Workshops
Regularly scheduled sessions focused on essential aviation topics such as navigation, meteorology, and Transport Canada exam preparation.

Real-Time Attendance Tracking
Monitored through our on-campus electronic sign-in kiosk, which helps support attendance compliance and academic engagement.

Program Progression Monitoring
Ongoing review of each student’s training milestones, with individualized support plans offered when challenges arise.
