CAC Critical Incident and Crisis Management Policy­

Canadian Aviation College is committed to the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and visitors. We have established a policy and procedure for managing critical incidents and crisis situations in a timely, coordinated, and culturally responsive manner.

​What is a Critical Incident?

Any traumatic, serious, or threatening event that impacts the safety of individuals at CAC, including:

  • Medical emergencies

  • fires

  • natural disasters

  • criminal activity

  • overdose crises

  • missing persons reports

Crisis Management Team Contacts:

 

Emergency Instructions:

  • In emergencies, call 911 immediately.

  • In overdose Incident Naloxone kits are available at Dispatch and Operations.

  • Students should report threats to any staff and keep their contact and Emergency Contact information in EMS up to date

Post-Incident Support:

  • Access to counselling, academic accommodation, and help reconnect with family abroad.

Emergency procedures to be used in the event of fire:

  1. Leave the fire area immediately.

  2. Activate the fire alarm and alert others.

  3. Go to the Fords Road Parking Lot, by CAC pedestrian Gate.

  4. Do not re-enter the building until the fire department has cleared the building.

  5. Notify management.
