About the IATA Airline Cabin Crew Training Program

Working as cabin crew for an airline is an exciting and challenging career. In addition to jetting off to exotic destinations, the job requires a high degree of responsibility and specialization to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers in line with industry regulations.

This course is ideal for young professionals looking to get a head start in the profession, introducing skills and responsibilities expected by the world’s airlines. Special emphasis is given to customer service and procedures for handling unusual situations during flight, with the final module of the course giving useful tips for completing the recruitment process.

This course also includes a safety equipment procedure (SEP) trainer providing an overview of the aircraft, safety equipment and location of emergency equipment.

 

Prerequisites

  • Over 17 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • IELTS : Minimum score 5 and no portion under 5.5 or Native Speaker

  • The ability to reside and study in Canada

Learning Objectives/Outcomes:

Upon completing this course, you will have the skills to:

  • Understand the cabin crew profession, its origins and current practices

  • Identify aircraft types and relevant cabin crew functions

  • Manage passenger interactions in a variety of circumstances

  • Recall emergency and safety procedures

This course is an instructor-led program created by IATA and delivered by Canadian Aviation College.

Module 1

A total of 18 course hours:

  • Introduction to the airline industry

  • Air Transport and Flight Operations

  • Crew Responsibilities and Cooperation

  • Managing Abnormal and Emergency Situations

  • Medical Emergencies Onboard the Aircraft

 

Module 2

A total of 18 course hours

  • Dangerous Goods

  • Aviation Security

  • Customer Service and Interaction with Passengers

  • Airlines Catering and Onboard Retail Services

  • Cabin Crew Professional Development

 

 

 

 

Upon completion of this program, students will be awarded an IATA certificate.
